Anodize first. Machine the specified bare surfaces.

In the pictured aluminum prototype, OUJI selectively machined defined surfaces after black anodizing. The process sequence preserved the specified contrast between coated and bare areas.

5083 aluminum: consistent machined surfaces

A 1,000-part optical-equipment order required consistent tool marks and a bright surface. OUJI adjusted the feed and tool selection to improve the appearance; remaining nonconforming parts were reworked.

Photos show OUJI manufacturing work. They do not identify a photonics customer or validate an optical assembly. Anodizing and plating are coordinated with specialist partners; OUJI manages the machining route and agreed final checks.

DESIGNED TO FIT. PLANNED TO BE MEASURED.

Critical features in optical equipment CNC parts.

Make assembly references and acceptance limits explicit. Your optical requirements inform the drawing; our quotation defines the mechanical manufacturing and inspection scope.

Concentric bores & diameters

A connector body needs a defined axis and a controlled relationship between its bore and outer features.

On your drawingMark the datum axis, fit and geometric tolerance. Identify which surfaces locate the part in your assembly.

Hole position & mounting faces

Port locations, dowel holes and seating faces must relate to the same assembly references.

On your drawingShow functional datums, position limits and flatness or parallelism requirements on the 2D drawing.

Thin walls & burr-sensitive edges

Workholding, pocket depth and tool access affect wall movement and edge quality.

On your drawingFlag minimum wall thickness, cross-hole intersections, internal edges and surfaces that must remain unmarked.

Dimensions after finishing

Anodizing and plating can change a fit. A black appearance alone does not define optical surface performance.

On your drawingSpecify final-condition dimensions, coating requirements, masking and bare contact areas. Add reflectance or cleanliness criteria if required.

Selected critical features: ±0.005 mm after review.

Feasibility depends on geometry, material, final finish and measurement access. Acceptance limits are agreed for your part.

Production timing
Qualified simple CNC parts: from 3 business days; standard parts without heat treatment: dispatch within 14 business days, after drawing approval and technical confirmation.
Finishing & documents
Partner anodizing and plating; OUJI coordinates final checks. Scope material certificates, FAI and inspection reports in the quote.
Supplier approval
OUJI is not currently ISO 9001 certified. Review your mandatory supplier requirements before sending an RFQ.

Production timing runs to dispatch; shipping is additional. Swiss parts, specialist finishes, material availability and inspection plans need an order-specific schedule. Review CNC production planning

INSPECTION YOU CAN DISCUSS BEFORE ORDERING

FAI, traceability & dimensional inspection.

Specify critical dimensions, the sampling plan and report format during quotation. First article inspection, full-dimensional reporting and 100% inspection are different scopes.

BEFORE YOU SEND THE RFQ

Practical buying questions.

Quantities, finishes, documents and scope—clear before you place an order.

Arrange an NDA first
Do you supply complete optical instruments or design the optics?

OUJI manufactures custom mechanical parts to approved customer drawings. Optical design, electronics design, fiber termination, optical alignment and instrument performance validation remain with your team. Send the mechanical drawing for a manufacturability review.

Can you make one prototype before a production order?

Ordinary CNC milling and turning samples can start at one piece, subject to drawing review. The minimum sample order for Swiss-type and micro machining is 100 pieces. Single-piece sample orders are not available for this service. Include your prototype and expected production quantities so each stage can be quoted.

How long do production and delivery take?

Qualified simple CNC parts may start from 3 business days. Standard parts without heat treatment can dispatch within 14 business days after drawing approval and technical confirmation. These CNC planning ranges are not a blanket Swiss-machining or finished photonics assembly lead time. Quantity, stock, finishing, inspection and transit affect delivery; the quotation confirms your schedule.

What tolerances can you hold on optical equipment parts?

Selected critical features can be reviewed to ±0.005 mm. This is not a tolerance for every feature: material, geometry, workholding, finish and the measurement method determine feasibility. State fit, runout, position and surface requirements separately, including whether acceptance is before or after finishing.

Can you handle anodizing, plating and masked surfaces?

Yes. OUJI coordinates anodizing and plating with specialist partners and reviews the finished parts against the agreed scope. Specify coating type, thickness, color, masking and final dimensions. Optical reflectance, vacuum compatibility and special cleanliness requirements need separate feasibility and verification agreements.

Can I request FAI, material traceability and compliance documents?

Yes. Agree first article inspection (FAI), measured dimensions, sampling, material certificates and lot traceability during quotation. State your required certificate format and any RoHS or REACH documentation requirements before material and finish selection. Additional reports, including full-dimensional reports, are charged only for the personnel time needed to record results and prepare the documentation. Allow up to approximately one additional day for this reporting work. The scope and delivery date are confirmed during quotation. External testing and specialist-process schedules are quoted separately.

Is OUJI ISO 9001 certified?

OUJI is not currently ISO 9001 certified. Projects are managed through drawing review, in-house process planning, production follow-up, inspection coordination, documentation review, and corrective action. Project-specific reports and certificates should be confirmed before production.
