02 / RF HOUSING · A REPEAT-ORDER PROJECT

Consistent silver plating.
Built for repeat orders.

This RF housing needed silver plating over a copper undercoat, with a consistent appearance both inside the cavities and on the external surfaces.

01 / THE CHALLENGE

Uneven colour after plating.

Early plating trials showed uneven colour in both areas. The finish had to be resolved before stable production could follow.

02 / THE WORK BEHIND THE FINISH

Find the right process and partner.

OUJI evaluated five plating suppliers. The first four did not achieve the required finish. With the fifth, process improvements focused on water purity in the plating process.

03 / THE RESULT

An accepted finish. Repeat production.

The selected partner achieved an accepted finish and stable production. The customer places repeat orders approximately every six months.

05 / BEFORE YOU SEND A DRAWING

RF & electronics
machining FAQs.

What should I send for an RF or electronics part quotation?

Send the 3D model and 2D drawing, quantity, material and required delivery date. Include cavity dimensions, connector positions, finish layers, masking and inspection requirements where they are not already in the files. We respond within 1 day and clarify missing details before confirming the quotation.

Can I order one sample before a production batch?

Yes. CNC milling and turning samples start from 1 piece. Include the expected batch quantity so both stages can be reviewed. Swiss-type and micro machining have a minimum sample order of 100 pieces; single-piece samples are not available for that service.

What production lead time should I plan for?

The quotation confirms the schedule for your drawing, quantity, finishing and inspection requirements. The silver-plated housing case on this page had a 30-day project lead time; that is a project record, not a standard lead time for every RF part. For CNC milling and turning, qualified simple parts can be ready for dispatch in as few as 3 business days from drawing approval and technical confirmation. Specialist plating and additional inspection need their own allowance. Dispatch timing excludes transit; Swiss-type and micro-machining timing is agreed separately.

Can you coordinate copper or silver plating?

Yes. State each coating layer, its thickness, the areas to mask and whether the dimensions apply before or after plating. OUJI coordinates specialist plating with qualified partners. The process specification and required coating records are agreed during quotation.

What inspection and material records can I request?

Material certificates, dimensional inspection reports, first article records and other agreed quality documents can be provided when specified during quotation. Identify the features to report, your required format and any coating-thickness or material-composition records needed for the order.

Does OUJI provide RF tuning or electrical performance testing?

OUJI manufactures the mechanical parts to your approved drawings. RF circuit design, tuning and electrical performance validation remain your responsibility unless separately agreed. The manufacturing examples on this page document mechanical processes; they do not establish insertion loss, return loss, frequency response or shielding performance.

Can we arrange an NDA before sharing drawings?

Yes. Send your NDA for review before sharing sensitive project files, or ask us for a standard confidentiality agreement.
